POWER WINDOW REGULATORS

A power window regulator does exactly what it sounds like. It is a mechanism that controls the movement of the glass window up and down. Power window regulators are always powered by an electric motor that is controlled by a power window button on the door panel or console. In many circumstances, a broken window motor may be replaced independently of the window regulator. This makes the repair easier and less expensive overall.

MANUAL WINDOW REGULATORS

The simplest basic window raising device is a manual window regulator. It always has some kind of handle extending out from the door panel that controls the up and down action of the glass window. Because the window crank must be manually cranked to raise and lower the door glass, humans constitute the "power" behind this sort of regulator.
